How to Change the Start Button Position in Windows 11

How to Change the Start Button Position in Windows 11

The Start button is now in the centre! How to Change the Start Button Position in Windows 11 if you don’t like it. The big thing you will notice when starting windows 11 is that the start button has migrated to the centre of the taskbar. Windows 11 seems to be quite good at first glance but the change of position of the start button might be a deal breaker for some. The start button has been in the same position for nearly 30 years and people don’t like change. So what if I don’t like it’s new position? This is easily changed…

  • right click on a blank bit of the taskbar
  • left click the ‘Taskbar Settings’ that appears
  • in Personalisation Taskbar box that appears go to Taskbar behaviours at the bottom
  • click on the box and the first option is Taskbar alignment
  • You can choose between centre and left
How to Change the Start Button Position in Windows 11
How to Change the Start Button Position in Windows 11

It’s as simple as that. If learning by watching is your method, I have created a little video on Youtube below on changing the Start Button Position in Windows 11.

As you can see there is nothing to it. That is How to Change the Start Button Position in Windows 11. Windows 11 seems to be not so much of a new upgrade, it is more like a rearranging of the furniture. It has a few new bits and with more features to come. But mainly it works in the same way as previous versions of Windows. It just has a new look to get used to. And generally, human beings don’t like change! But personally, I like it!

Windows 11

Not sure about Windows 11? It is a bit different. But not that much. Most things work the same way. My only wish would be to have kept the right-click menu the same as Windows 10. but alas, now we have little pictures and to get to rename, you have to click on ‘show more options’. A minor gripe to be sure. At the time of writing, I have been using windows 11 for a little over a month and I’ve not managed to break it! Yet!

First look at Windows 11

First look at Windows 11

Okay, first look at Windows 11. I am always what is classed as an early adopter of technology and new things. Personally, I like discovering new things and playing about with new stuff. I think that why I use windows, it has the ability to more than say, a Mac. Don’t get me wrong, Macs are good at what they do, they just don’t do enough for ME. Anyhow, back to the first look at Windows 11.

The big difference is the start button in the middle of the task bar. It still works the same as before but just has a slightly different look. Your most commonly used apps are displayed there. Access it by clicking on it or by hitting the ‘Windows + S’ keys together.

First look at Windows 11
Windows 11 Start Menu

If you click on the ‘all apps’ at the top, this below appears. An alphabetical list of all the apps (programs) appear. So pretty much works the same as before, just a different look. And with this particular release of Windows 11 that can be it’s mantra ‘works the same as before, just a different look’

Windows 11 start menu
Windows 11 start menu – First look at Windows 11

I say this particular release because all of the features have not been rolled out yet. Such as the running Android apps in Windows 11. We won’t see this feature until 2022 probably.

Windows 11 search box

windows 11 search box - First look at Windows 11
windows 11 search box – First look at Windows 11

The search box is still next to the start button but a feature I like is that when you hover over it it shows the last searches you performed. It saves having to type it in again. Computers are supposed to save you time!

Windows 11 folders look

The folder icons as you can see below have been jazed up a bit. Microsoft, like lots of people, go with fashions, and I think they are coming out of there ‘minimalist’ phase. So, we have little pictures on the folders and some colouring in of the Icons. Does it make a difference to the using of the machine? No, but it is a visual difference and some will like it and others hate it.

Widgets in Windows 11

By pressing Windows + W on the keyboard you can get the widgets box up. This isn’t Microsofts first attempt at sidebars and widgets. There is a weather app that is useful but an awful lot of click bait. To customise it, click on your account picture which brings up an additional box where you can customise the things that appear there.

First look at Windows 11
First look at Windows 11

Also you can also customise your interests. This takes you to a web page, below, where you can mark interests. I personally hope they expand the interests because there is not much for me here! But hey, I can’t see myself using this feature much.

When it’s all said and done Windows 11 is a free upgrade if you are running windows 10 and your hardware supports it. Check here for more info on that.

First look at Windows 11 – Conclusions

Yeah, it’s going to be a wait and see as all Microsoft releases are. For the average home user, I’d say give it a year for others to iron out the bugs…

Windows 11 ???

Windows 11 (and what is known so far)

Windows 11 (and what we know so far) is of course, subject to change, but this is what Microsoft has said so far. It will available around Christmas 2021. You will be able to upgrade for free, from Windows 10.

Windows 11 Home screen
Windows 11 home screen

The full-page where these pictures are from can be found at the Microsoft site, here   New Windows 11 OS | Microsoft. Of course, Microsoft are telling you on this page how wonderful it is. Of course, they are the ones trying to hawk it! But the free upgrade may appeal to some. I have heard that Windows 10 will no longer be supported from 2025 which fits in line with other operating system timelines.

Personally, I am a little disappointed Microsoft were not able to hold to the detail they mentioned when Windows 10 came out – they said it would be the last operating system they release and they would just release updates for it.

How good will Windows 11 be?

Only time will tell. Microsoft in the past have tended to release a good operating system, then a duff one in my opinion. Windows 98, good, Windows 2000? A bit of a duffer. The Same with Windows XP, good, then they followed it up with Vista. The same with Windows 7! Good, and then Windows 8 was released…  Will Windows 11 follow the same pattern?

Should I change?

The industry tends to wait a year before even considering an upgrade. I’ll have it from the word go but I’ll still be running windows 10 on my workshop computers as it’s proved itself to be reliable. As human beings, the older we get the less we like change. Many people will be resistant to it because it is different

Windows 11 logo
Windows 11 logo

System requirements

The minimum system requirements are below, but if you only just meet the requirements, consider upgrading your hardware as it will probably run like a dog on some older machines out there. I consider an I3 or equivalent, 8GB RAM and an SSD to be minimum requirements for windows 10, so we can probably think along those lines.

Windows 11 requirements
Windows 11 requirements

Of course, everything I’ve said above can be taken with a pinch of salt. Until it is released, we won’t know what we are getting!

Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online

Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online.

Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online – One of the pains of the modern world is passwords. They are very necessary, unfortunately! Passwords keep us safe and the more complicated the password the safer the thing it is protecting is. However, there is a huge caveat with this statement. Even the most complicated password is useless if you tell someone.

But I wouldn’t tell anyone my password, I hear you cry! Yes, in normal situations, I.e somebody stops you in the street and says ‘ give me your password’ you wouldn’t.

Computer repairs in your area

However, if you go to a website and put in your password, and it’s an unfriendly website, dressed up to look like a legitimate website, a spoof website, you’ve just given your password away.

Social Engineering

If you’ve answered an email saying that you need to go to a company website to reenter your password because you’ve been locked out of your account, are you sure you really want to click on the link in the email? These ways of gaining somebodies password are known as social engineering. It’s getting you to give away your password. There is a good article on the BBC website that talks about Social engineering. These are the most common ways. Another way to gain a password is through a keystroke logger. It’s a little program or virus that makes a note of all your presses on the keyboard and sends it to the enemy or ‘hacker’.

Rarely, it is the classic Hollywood image of the person hunched over a keyboard running a program that tries lots of different combinations to gain access to something.

A selection of ‘Traditional Hacker’ Photos – taken from Google Images

Another trick is to use social media posts and quizzes. It’s a big subject so it has its own post. See How to NOT give away your personal data on social media.

As a little primer for this beginners guide to Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online, some common terms I have used are browser and address bar. Firstly, let me explain those.

Browser

This is what you view the ‘Internet’ on. It’s a little program that lets you see the internet. Whether it is Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox or one of the others. The logos you click on look a bit like this;

Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online
Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online

Address Bar

This is the line on top of your browser where the website address you are currently on appears. You can type in this line, click in it to get the flashing I Beam or cursor, in it. If you know the website address you are looking for you can type in this line and not have to go through a search engine to find it. See the picture below for where it is. It’s the bit that is highlighted in yellow

Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online

Also, take note of the little padlock, I’ll mention that later. Knowing these terms, if you don’t already will help you with the words below.

Ok, let’s run through how to avoid scams and help you with Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online

Spoof websites

When going to a website always check in the address bar that it is the correct website. See the image below for the address bar. If it is different from what you expect to see, don’t go there!

Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online
Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online – from google images

Here I’ve used pictures from google. The red around the address bar is showing the double ‘N’ in amazon. You wouldn’t get me to go to these websites in real life! For a full explanation see Wiki – Spoof Website. Also, check for the little padlock in the address bar, it means the website has a certain level of encryption. This and the trick below are an example of Phishing. Phishing is basically a fraudulent attempt to gain access to your data.

Spoof emails

This is different from the email approach. Never click on a link in an email. Never. Even if you think it might be genuine. If you are unsure if you have been locked out of your account, type the company web address directly in your browser.

Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online
Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online

Above, I’m using an example here from my personal email. It’s an email from, allegedly, PayPal.

Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online
Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online

If I hover (but not click) over the ‘check your account’ bit, the address it is going to go to appears in the bottom left corner

Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online
Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online

And that is definitely not a PayPal address! As I said, if you are unsure, type the Web address of the company in question into your browser and see if you have login issues. Another thing to look out for is spelling and grammar in the email. ‘Paypal ask to update your account’ is not great English!

Number Crunching

This is the more traditional Hollywood approach. However, it is rarer than the others, because it’s much easier to get someone to give you their password information in one of the above methods. For a more complete definition of hacking, see here – Hacking – Wikipedia.

Also, these days there are those annoying captchas. Sometimes it’s pictures and sometimes it is some letters written funny. This is to prove you are human. A computer program has difficulty identifying numbers or pictures. The Captchas may be annoying but they are a useful security feature…

captcha
captcha

A reason these exist is to stop the number-crunching brigade. It’s very difficult to program an automated system to recognise pictures. Although not impossible, it’s not readily available to most people.

Safe Passwords

The major rule is don’t use the same password for everything. Use Capital and lower case letters and numbers and special characters if you can.

Write them down

Contrary to the advice given a few years ago, the best thing is to write them down in a little book. But don’t keep the book next to your computer! And certainly don’t use post-it notes and put them all over your monitor – If you get burgled you’ll be in trouble. Resetting peoples passwords where they have been forgotten is one of the most common problems people call me about.

Computer Passwords and Being Safe Online – Summary

Mainly, it is just being wary online. Yes, write your complicated passwords down in a little book but don’t keep that next to the computer. If you get one of the emails and you’re not sure, phone the company they purport to be on the phone number on the bill to check. Also, in your pursuit of online safety, it’s worth being aware of scam calls. Read more about How to deal with scam calls here. Let’s be safe out there!

Upgrades

We perform all sorts of Hardware and Software upgrades for your computer. You might be wondering how to increase your computer speed or asking yourself how can I make my laptop faster? Increasing your computer performance can be achieved with a solid-state drive. Below is a video showing an upgrade to Windows 10 with Solid State Drive Upgrades. By combining an Upgrade to Windows 10 and a Solid State Drive Upgrade we gave the old computer in the video a new lease of life and a huge speed boost!

SSD - Solid State Drive

An old HDD

A New Solid State Hard Drive

An Old Laptop Hard Drive

An Old Desk Top Hard Drive

Ok, What are the differences?

The Solid-State Drive is the same size as an old laptop hard drive. A desktop hard drive is larger. A desktop hard drive also spins faster. At 7200 rpm (revolutions per minute) to be exact. A laptop Hard Drive spins at 5400 rpm. A solid-state drive does not spin. It has no moving parts. Think of it as a big memory stick. Also, because it has no moving parts there is less to go wrong with it! Because the old style hard drives rotated, and an arm read the data of it, they are not as quick. And yes, old-style laptop hard drives are slower because they don’t rotate as quickly.

Password Issues

Lost your password or the machine won’t accept it? We can help recover it!  My personal advice has always been to write all your passwords down in a book. And hide the book away! Don’t keep it next to the computer. Nobody’s memory is perfect and all the passwords and what they are for is a real headache to remember! However, they are designed to make your information safe and we all have to use them.

Upgrade to Windows 10

As mentioned earlier under upgrades but I thought I’d mention it again as it is in a lot of peoples minds at the moment. If you are running Windows 7, support for it is running out in January 2020. It will still function after this date. What is stopping are security updates. Microsoft recommends updating to Windows 10 to lessen any risk of your system being compromised. A lot of people are wary of Windows 10 for a number of reasons. Most of this is because, as human beings, we don’t like change!  I have written more on this, as it deserved its own article here, Upgrade to Windows 10.

How do I speed up my machine? By adding an SSD

How do I speed up my machine? By adding an SSD

How do I speed up my Machine? is a question I am often asked. Sometimes, it just needs a cleanup. Also, sometimes it might be a mechanical issue, it all depends. However, there is one thing you can do to speed up your machine which will give it the single biggest speed increase I know and that is to put a solid-state hard drive inside.

 Email us     07771 588577     Whatsapp

Solid-state hard drives will make your computer work a lot faster. An awful lot faster, to be sure.

How do I speed up my machine? By adding an SSD
How do I speed up my machine? By adding an SSD
Standard Hard Disk Drive
Solid State drive

It’s amazing the number of computers supplied today where the processor CPU is not really up to the job. Obviously, this isn’t the fault of the customer because most people don’t know the difference in which processor is better than another. This is the fault of manufacturers. I know these computers are always built to a price but really manufactures? In my opinion, it just seems that they are trying to make the most amount of money, for the least work.

Anyway, rant about manufacturers over.

As I was saying an SSD,  (solid-state drive) is a lot quicker than HDD, (hard disk drive). Look at this video below where I’ve taken two machines one with an SSD and the other with a normal standard HDD and press the power button at the same time. You can see how much quicker the SSD machine boots. In this case, 16 seconds. Also, it’s not just the booting time. Indeed, files and documents load quicker. And programs load quicker. In fact, everything.

How do I speed up my Machine – effects of an SSD

It’s the same system. The same computer and the same boot sequence. All I have done is clone the stuff on the HDD to the SSD.

Which is exactly what I would do for you.

If you live in the Sussex Surrey area and want me to speed up your machine with a Solid State Drive, SSD, call me on 07771 588577 or Email.

At the bottom of this page is another video showing an even more drastic improvement of nearly a minute quicker. An SSD Upgrade was combined with an upgrade to Windows 10. Scroll down to see it.

Below, is a table with the advantages and disadvantages of a Solid State Drive. The only real disadvantage, however, is that they cost slightly more.

Attribute
SSD
HDD
Power DrawDraws less power and an average of 2 to 3 W of electricityMore power draw an average of 6 to 7 W of electricity
NoiseNo moving parts, therefore, no soundClicks, whirring and spinning can be heard
VibrationNo moving parts, therefore no vibrationThe disc (platter) spinning can produce vibration
CostSSD’s are more expensiveStore a lot of data cheaply
Heat producedLower power draw and no moving parts mean very little heat producedWhile not that significant it produces more heat than an SSD and can contribute to machine overheating
File opening speedUp to 30% faster than the standard HDDSlower than an SSD
Operating system boot timeAverage 10 to 15 seconds on a new machineAverage 30 to 45 seconds

This is a video showing a Solid State Drive Upgrade and a Windows 10 Upgrade. It really gives the machine a new lease of life. It was combined with an upgrade to 10 because when the video was shot, October 2019, there was only a few months of life left for Windows 7. The computer itself Had an Intel I3 processor and 6gb of RAM in it. That remained and just the Operating System and the Hard Drive were upgraded.

How do I speed up my machine? – The Cost

But it is not as expensive as you would think and will give your machine a new lease of life. Give me a call on (07771) 588577 or email me so we can discuss it further. Cost depends on how much data you have as to the size of the solid-state drive you require. However, the labour cost is the same it’s only the drive price that varies.

Why not treat yourself to a new and faster SSD and make your computer a pleasure to use again! How do I speed up my Machine!

Upgrade to Windows 10

Upgrade to Windows 10

Upgrade to Windows 10 – Support for Windows 7 has ended. That means no more security updates… You should have been notified about this by your computer in a message on the screen. Depending on the message you see, it says something along the lines of:

upgrade to windows 10 - windows 7 end
upgrade to windows 10 – windows 7 end

Or something like;

upgrade to windows 10 - windows 7 end
upgrade to windows 10 – windows 7 end

Many people will then ask “How do I know which version of Windows I am running?” If your computer start button (bottom left) looks like the one below, it is probably Windows 7.

upgrade to windows 10 - windows 7 end
upgrade to windows 10 – windows 7 end

What is this ‘support’

14 January 2020 was the last day that Microsoft will offer security updates and technical support for computers running Windows 7. It’s the security update aspect of this message which is of most concern. This means that Microsoft won’t be offering any security updates to fix any bugs in Windows 7. Windows 7 has been out a while now and is not as secure as the latest version of Windows.

Certainly, most of the computers affected by the Wannacry Ransomware attack that hit the NHS in 2017 were running Windows 7. And now with support ending for Windows 7, it will be even more vulnerable. As when Windows XP support finished, it means you shouldn’t carry out anything financial (shopping, online banking etc) on your PC after the end date.

Computer help in sussex

Why should I upgrade?

The short answer is, staying with Windows 7 is less secure and more vulnerable to Viruses and Malware.

What are my options?

In brief, you can upgrade. Or not.

That means that Microsoft would like you to upgrade to Windows 10. Because, and it is a demonstrable fact, it is definitely more secure than Windows 7. Windows 10 is now a popular choice and there are now more computers running Windows 10 than running Windows 7. Indeed, Windows 10 is now running on more than 800 million devices worldwide.

However, as human beings, we tend to be a little bit resistant to change!

And, that is why some people don’t like it. Also, it usually takes a couple of weeks to get used to it. I remember when people said they didn’t like it when changing from Windows 98 to Windows XP. Also, people didn’t like the change from Windows XP to Windows 7! And my money is on people saying the same thing whenever the next upgrade comes along!

Indeed, the average life span of a computer is 3-5 years. I know, unbelievably short! It’s here if you fancy some depressive reading! To be fair, I still go to a Windows 98 computer to service it! The old saying, they don’t make them like that any more is still so true! However, we used to pay a lot more for computers. My first computer in 1985 cost £300. that is when £300 meant something! Inflation-adjusted, that is about £900 in today’s terms…

But apart from the look of Windows 10 it still operates in basically the same way as Windows 7.

I have upgraded many, many people to Windows 10 this year. Thanks to the messages appearing on peoples computers. Usually, after a while, it becomes a case of ‘what was I worried about?’ On an upgrade to Windows 10, the majority of your icons on your desktop/start screen will still look the same and function exactly as before.

Windows 10 upgrade
What an upgrade to Windows 10 looks like

Depending on your Windows 7 system it may be a case that you can just upgrade your operating system to the new Windows 10 without having to buy a new computer. You can run the Windows 10 compatibility tool on your current system to find out if there will be any problems. It can be downloaded from here. Then you can download the upgrade from the Microsoft website and upgrade your PC. But don’t forget to back up your data first as it can go wrong! It’s probably best to make a clone of your hard drive on a spare hard drive so you can go back to how your computer was, exactly.

Upgrade to Windows 10

Of course, you may not feel comfortable doing the upgrade yourself. Truly, nobody is born with the knowledge of how to do this, it is all a learning process. And for me, that is what makes computers fun, learning something new each day! But not everyone has the time or inclination to learn something new.

That’s where somebody like me comes in useful. When I upgrade customers to Windows 10, I make a clone (an exact copy) of their hard drive before doing anything. That way, if something goes wrong in the upgrade procedure, nothing is lost.

Good Example

Just today, I had a call from a customer saying the upgrade had gone wrong (someone else had done it for her). Her problem was that when it reverted back to Windows 7, her ‘Windows Live Mail‘ was not working. I had to give her the bad news that as Microsoft don’t make it anymore, it can’t be re-installed. (click the Windows Live Mail link for more information)

To make it clear, the reason it probably failed to upgrade was insufficient disk space on the computer, I gauged this from what she said on the phone. It doesn’t usually go wrong. But I believe ‘plan for the worst and it will never happen’!

It’s for these reasons I make a clone of the existing hard drive. I always tell people it is an overnight job, sometimes 24 hours, as to make the clone and then to upgrade the PC to Windows 10, does take a while. Because it is done at the workshop, it is priced at a job rate, usually £80. Whilst, they may sound a lot, it comes with security.

No data loss, the job done well, and a guided tour of Windows 10 after. Yes, I’ll show you around Windows 10 and answer any questions you may have. I know, not at all like PC World or Currys!

That being said most people doing the upgrade to Windows 10 have no problems, it goes through fine. But doing it is highly recommended by Microsoft.

Other upgrades

We perform all sorts of Hardware and Software upgrades for your computer. Below is a video showing an upgrade to Windows 10 with a Solid State Drive Upgrade. By combining an Upgrade to Windows 10 and a Solid State Drive Upgrade we gave the old computer in the video a new lease of life and a huge speed boost!

If this all sounds like too much hassle to do it yourself, call me on 07771 588577 or Email Me, and I can do it all for you, I can perform your upgrade to Windows 10 safely, securely, with no data loss.

Home CCTV and Smart Cameras

Home CCTV and Smart Cameras.

Call 07771 588577 or email us.

What if I told you you could have a smart, effective Home CCTV and Smart Cameras solution for about £30 per camera? All of the cameras link to an app that would email you photos when a movement was detected without any subscription fees? This is totally possible, I’ve done it myself…

Echo Dot Smart Device and Camera
Echo Dot Smart Device and Camera which is also smart plug controlled

Some CCTV companies and vendor’s charge a subscription for their service. Some cameras have a memory card inside them so if the thieves steal the camera as well you cannot see the pictures. Whereas this system emails you a selection of photos when movement is detected on the camera without charge. It uses standard email protocol to send you the pictures direct to your email account so you can view them on your computer, tablet or phone…

Sounds too good to be true, right?

But it isn’t. Let me take you through the system I use, using Dlink cameras.

[one-half]Home CCTV and Smart Cameras[/one-half]

[one-half]Home CCTV and Smart Cameras external[/one-half]

These are the two models of camera that I use. For those of a technical bent, the internal ones are DCS-932LB1 and the external one is a DCS-2670L. So, now we have established what cameras I use, the big question is:

But what is the quality of the picture?

[one-third]Home CCTV and Smart Cameras app screenshot[/one-third]

[one-third]Home CCTV and Smart Camerascamera screenshot[/one-third]

[one-third]Internal Picture[/one-third]

[one-third]External Picture[/one-third]

[divider style=”empty” margin_top=”10px” margin_bottom=”10px”]

And the pictures are good quality! Here is an enlargement of the external shot with yours truly. Certainly enough to pick me out of a line up of suspects!

Home CCTV and Smart Cameras external close up
Home CCTV and Smart Cameras external close up

Not bad considering the price? Of course, you’ll notice the date and time stamp in the picture of the external camera. The external camera is more expensive but the internal ones more than hold their own in terms of picture quality. Also, as each email has its own time stamp when it is sent to you, you’ll know when it was taken.

How easy is the App to use?

In the above three photos, the first one is of the app. The D-link app is very user-friendly and you just tap on the camera to see what’s happening. In our installation, we set up the app for you and give you a guided tour on how to use it. We can also set up the email notifications for you. Just switch on the cameras as you leave the house. That’s it!

How hard are the cameras to set up?

Setting the cameras up is a fairly easy proposition if you have an understanding of basic Wi-Fi settings. But if you don’t and, let’s not be coy about this, not everybody does, that’s where I come in. If you’re looking for a cheap CCTV set up in either South Surrey or Sussex let me know on either (07771) 588577 or email. That way we can discuss how many cameras you need and the total cost involved. Then I’d visit, set it all up for you, install the app on your smartphone, set up email and you all good to go.

Of course, it won’t stop people breaking into your house if they are hard of thinking! But you will get them on CCTV.

Of course, most thieves seeing the CCTV cameras will hopefully think twice before breaking in.

After all, there are easier targets than a house with a CCTV system.

Where can I use the Home CCTV and Smart Cameras?

Practically anywhere as long as you have a Wi-Fi signal and a power supply.

[one-third]Home CCTV and Smart Cameras kitchen screenshot[/one-third]

Of course, they have infrared to and can see in the dark, as in the middle picture of a darkened garage.

Can I link them to my Alexa or smart home?

Yes, by using smart plugs you can tell Alexa to switch the cameras on as you leave the house and turn them off when you get back. For full details of our Smart Home installation service see Smart Device Set Up. Below is my own set up for my sunroom. I have cameras on every access point to the house and in the below picture you can see an Amazon Echo dot hidden in the foliage next to the camera. The camera is more visible, after all, it is a deterrent!
